Everything You Need to Help Your Preschooler Sleep Through the Night

  • You're in a vicious cycle. Your child won't sleep. You're in and out of their bedroom all night. It's gotten so you dread the nighttime. And, it's taking a toll on the family. You have no time to yourself or to reconnect with your partner.

  • But you're worried. It doesn't feel right. And what if your child really is scared? And what about the lasting implications? You want a child who is resilient and self reliant.

  • You've heard all the advice from letting them cry to waiting until they grow out of it. None of the advice resonates with being the right fit for your child. You want a solution that gets to the heart of the problem and leads to lasting change. And, you want to make sure that your child feels loved through the process.

Meet Janeen Hayward

aka "The Sleep Fairy"

I’ve been a sleep coach since 2005, before I became a mother myself. However, when my daughter started to experience intense separation anxiety after starting nursery school, I understood the strong emotional pull to provide comfort in the middle of the night. It didn’t take long for this to take a toll on the mood and energy of the entire family. When I remember to look from the perspective of meeting my child’s emotional needs, I was able provide security and comfort while creating boundaries around sleep. My daughter started to sleep better immediately. My education in clinical psychology, along with my experience as a practitioner and mother allows me to take a whole child perspective and to build a strategy to guide parents to meet their child’s sleep needs and emotional needs at the same time.

Addressing sleep challenges from a developmental and emotional wellbeing perspective significantly reduces resistance while quickly leading to meaningful gains in healthy sleep.

More Energy, Clarity and Focus

The exhaustion you’re feeling from the cycle of sleepless nights may be affecting your ability to care for yourself, maintain focus, be productive and enjoy the relationships with the people you love the most. Imagine if you were able to help your child sleep through the night, you would not only have more time for yourself, but you’d have more energy, clarity and focus and enjoy a happier mood. You’d be empowered to be proactive versus reactive to your child. Your relationship with yourself, your child and those you hold most dear would improve. Most parents in your situation come to me for help feeling as though they tried everything from reward charts to punishments to any number of suggestions from friends or pediatricians. However, nearly all sleep solutions target the behavior not the underlying need. As a result, many of those recommendations simply don’t work. Sadly, some actually make things worse.

Testimonials

by Melissa Errico McEnroe

Janeen personally transformed the way I lived as a mother, and helped our house immeasurably. When I met her, I was worried about sleep, sleepless and unsure about how to get more sleep for me and for my daughter. Janeen guided me with gentleness and incredible respect, and shared her knowledge in a way that was so empowering. She has no hard-and-fast rules, adjusts to your needs, and never loses sight of a child's developmental needs. I have recommended her to a circle of friends, and she has been a great part of our lives as new parents.

You helped me so much with so many things. I liked how patient and thorough you were in answering any question I had. I learned so much from you — I pass all the tips on to my friends as if they were my own.

FAQ

  • What happens if I am unable to attend the live Q&A Sessions?

No worries! You are welcome to submit your questions in advance. All Q&A sessions will be recorded and available to listen at a later time.

  • Do my partner and I both need to attend live?

As long as both parents are in agreement about the problem and willing to work together on a solution, I generally find that it works well for one parent to take the lead and attend the group sessions. Both parents or caregivers are certainly welcome!

  • How long does it take to see results?

Remarkably, most children respond well to the protocols because we are able to meet their underlying needs. Therefore, many times progress in noted within the first week. In cases where parents choose a more gradual approach it can take longer to see results, however they are expected during the two week period of this course.
